Did you know that giving back to the community is more than what you think?
This is because not only do you help the homeless and hungry on the streets, those abandoned orphans, etc., etc., it supports and betters the environment all around you, mentally and physically.
Like, suppose you live in a big, urban area like a metropolis and you were hanging about when you accidentally dropped a coin on the floor. You weren't really bothering to pick it up when a little kid with old - looking clothes came up to you and asked to spare some money, so you gave him/her the coin that you were going to leave like that. If you had left sooner or didn't bother to take it, you might've not been able to give the child anything, even if you really wanted to. Plus, it would've become litter on the ground. But, if you did give it, especially if it fulfilled one of the kid's goals with the money, such as being able to buy dinner tonight or to get a taxi to see someone, it would've given a lot of positive energy, making his/her day, and inspiring the kid to do something good for someone else, starting a cycle of good deeds and making a positive influence in the city, no matter if it's through donating, helping the environment, making food for people, etc., etc.
So really, doing good deeds for your community can help a lot of people, and, depending on what you do, help the environment too, positively in every way. It might even start a cycle, possibly even coming back to you one day, having helped many people and other things on the way as well.
So how do you do it?
There are lots of ways to make a good influence on others. Even if they physically help or not, both ways they could bring happiness to the world and more encouragement to do more good in the world, so people would think less about doing bad, such as harming our Earth.
Without further ado . . .
If a small business of someone you know is failing, support it. Having a business and being a successful entrepreneur is many people's dream. But many tend to fail or give up because of stress, no popularity, barely any money, etc., etc. Like, what if you started a bakery and you spent so much money in materials and a building and a website and EVERYTHING and then you worked so hard to create advertisements and baked all day long to see that no one wanted to buy any of your treats? Or you started a tutoring app and worked day and night to see that no one wanted to join after waiting for a month? You would feel horrible, right? But what if a friend came along and agreed to buy a dozen donuts from you, your first order, and didn't let anything go to waste, promoting your bakery online? What if a friend let their child be the first student in your tutoring app, cheering you on and helping you when times got tough? Being that friend who ordered at a small restaurant often to help lessen food waste and keep salaries up or buying those clothes would make a huge difference emotionally and physically and could make a dream come true, bringing goodness into this world.
Save that food. Save those clothes. If you have leftovers, why trash it? Many people would love to have the food that you're going to put in the garbage. And before you do that, think about its whole history. It probably came from the farmers who spent so much work on planting crops and raising livestock. This would later be shipped to a grocery store, and if you got the food from a restaurant, that restaurant probably made a bulk order of groceries, so it ended up there, and then prepared and handed to you to eat, later just wasted like that. If you bought it from the grocery, it's still the same thing. Transportation, pollution, labor, love, everything is just wasted on that food you're about to throw away. And when you do throw it away, it would release gases into the air, promoting climate change. So either reduce what you buy, eat it yourself later, or if you want to do something good and it is in good shape, you can give it to someone who needs it. And it's the same for the clothing. How much work did those workers probably spend growing crops or raising livestock to produce cotton, wool, etc., for your clothing? If you just throw it away just because it wasn't your size, all that work and shipping would be for nothing. So instead, how about donating it to charity or an orphanage or giving it to someone directly? It would change their life and help so much work not go to waste.
Volunteer for those animals, for the people, for your world. I know I've probably been saying this a million times already, but volunteer, and make it a promise to volunteer at least once per year. It doesn't matter what you volunteer for, as long as it does good in this world. Suggestions are:
- Do you like animals? Then volunteer at an animal shelter; there's no other experience like feeding and washing and caring for those animals!
- How about cooking and serving? If you like that, volunteer to make food for others or help out at a soup kitchen!
- Packaging? Some people like to package things, such as non - perishable foods, to soon be distributed out into the world, to places that are struggling, such as places in war (such as Ukraine) or third - world countries. It could help many families hit in hard times.
- Cleaning up? Picking up all that plastic and being able to reuse and recycle a lot is somewhat satisfying, because you're able to rest in peace that you prevented a lot more litter from killing an unknowing animal or contributing to greenhouse gases.
- How about helping the seniors? Whether it's sending a loving card or partnering up with them for a few days and helping them directly, helping a senior is a great way to give to the community. With the right words, you could bring joy and love and help them get through the time, being away from their family.
- How about helping the sick? From donating blood to giving company to a struggling child with a disease, you can deliver positivity and chance of survival no matter if you're a professional doctor or not.

All in all, there are many ways to volunteer and to give back to the community. This could not only help many people, but also deliver a positive outcome into this world. It could affect the way people think, and if we spread this goodness and promote it, others would get the idea and help the world too.
