Saying "No" Against Fracking

Fracking is something we haven't really talked about.
Sometimes called hydraulic fracturing, fracking means to sort of insert liquids at high pressure into the Earth to get oil and gas. This can pollute the water inside Earth, increase global warming, and may cause earthquakes if used to a certain extent.
Fracking's main goal is to get natural gas and oil for energy, and some people perceive that it's cleaner than coal and such. Though that isn't true: natural gas's carbon content is methane, a greenhouse gas, which has an over 20 - time greater effect than carbon dioxide in a century time scale and is overall destructive as an element.
Since, as reported by NASA, Earth's global temperature has risen over 1 degree Celsius from 1880, if we don't want to reach 2 degrees, Climate Action Tracker says that we can't burn any more fossil fuels starting from 2050. That seems pretty impossible right now, but if we want to take a step in the right direction, it's better not to choose using fracking and too much natural gas.
To continue, fracking could also leak chemicals and elements such as methane into the groundwaters and atmosphere, thoroughly polluting the environment. Fracking has also been protested against by many groups, too. And finally, not only that, but fracking is also supposed to expand, 17 states not being enough. Soon enough, it might hit beautiful places with scenery and, who knows, even steal habitats.
And another thing: what you need for fracking. Fracking requires water: and not just a few cups or anything. It requires millions of gallons, a lot of times over 3 million and up to 9!!! And the water can't return just like that to the ground after the job is done since by that time it would be full of damaging chemicals, harmful to its original environment.
So, as you can see here, fracking is very un - ecofriendly, damaging the environment around us in air, water, and land. It could contaminate water and even drinking water for some and is extremely unhealthy.
The best way to prevent fracking, then, as usual, is to try, if you can, to use alternatives to natural gas and oil. Try greener, and push for more cost - effective, cleaner methods that would revolutionize the way we use our energy to harmonize with the planet. If you want to do more, encourage others to do the same, set your mind on things such as no fracking and cleaner drinking water, and, as always, stay informed.
